English Program
Begin with a no-cost consultation.
- The purpose of a no-cost consultation is to answer your questions and to learn how Pro ESL can provide the solution your company requires.
- There are three items to take into account for a no-cost consultation:
- 1) Program: What would you like your company's program to be? What would a successful program be for your company?
- 2) Benefits: What are the benefits of the program?
- 3) Options: What are the options?

Three-step process: Evaluation and needs analysis
1) Course participant level and skills evaluation: Level evaluation and skills evaluation are performance based and take the form of interviews or written language assessments. One or both may be necessary, depending on each situation.
2) Course participant content needs analysis: Content needs analysis means learning about the language that course participants use at work and how we are going to work to improve the course participants' communication skills. This analysis is from the viewpoint of course participants.
3) Management and colleague needs analysis: Management and colleagues play a key role in learning about the language needs of course participants and finding out the areas in which course participants need to improve. We briefly interview managers, supervisors, and colleagues, as necessary and practical, for needs analysis.
Three-point plan: Course development
1) Course outline: A course outline is a list of what we will cover during the training. Evaluation and needs analysis determine the content of a course outline (syllabus).
2) Materials and lesson development: The course outline guides materials and lesson development. Materials and lessons are created and assembled to accommodate the specific needs of course participants as determined by evaluations and needs analysis.
3) Ongoing assessment: Ongoing assessment includes modifications to course outlines, as we continually learn more about course participants' needs as a training course progresses. As well, ongoing assessment includes course updates, progress reports, and skills evaluation.
